Dear producers and exhibitors,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the exhibition and evaluation part of the exhibition of wine and winemaking equipment Vinistra 2011, held this year for the 18th year in a row, and in the third international competition of Malvasia wines The World of Malvasia organised by the Vinistra Association and the Region of Istria. The Vinistra 2011 general sponsor is the Region of Istria, and the other sponsors include the City Council of Poreč, Ministry of Agriculture, Fishery and Rural Development and the Croatian Chamber of Economy – Regional Chamber in Pula.As in the past two years, the evaluation of the Malvasia wines will be held separately, within the framework of the third international competition of Malvasia wines The World of Malvasia. Other types of wine, brandies and olive oil will traditionally be evaluated as part of Vinistra.
Producers who wish to enter their products for award-winning competition must submit their wine samples (Teran, Refosco, Muscat, Chardonnay, Pinot and other types), brandies and olive oil by 7 April to the premises of Vinistra at Prolaz Ernesta Jelušića 1, Pazin and from 7 to 9 April to the Professional Study of Winemaking in Poreč, Carla Huguesa 6. Entry fee shall be paid at the time of sample delivery for the samples entered for Vinistra. The entry fee amounts to HRK 350.00 + VAT per sample for entries up to 5 samples. Every further sample shall be given a discount of 20%. Members of the Vinistra Association obtain a discount of 50%. A copy of the chemical analysis must be submitted for every sample.
The competitive part of the wine exhibition can be entered by producers from the Istrian and Primorsko-Goranska Regions. Producers from other regions and from abroad can enter only samples of Malvasia in the World of Malvasia event, and, just as in previous years, samples of Teran and Refosco in the competition part of Vinistra. Only producers from the Istrian Region are entitled to enter the brandy competition. Evaluation of olive oil can be entered by all producers from Croatia and abroad.
The Malvasia wines, as already mentioned, are evaluated separately, within The World of Malvasia competition held under the patronage of OIV. Samples are accepted until 7 April on the premises of Vinistra at Prolaz Ernesta Jelušića 1, Pazin and from 7 to 9 April at the Professional Study of Winemaking in Poreč, Carla Huguesa 6. The entry fee is HRK420.00 (incl. VAT). Registration deadline is 15 March by when all completed registration forms must be sent by fax to 052/621 698, by mail to Prolaz Ernesta Jelušića 1, 52000 Pazin or by email to competition@vinistra.com.
The exhibition part of the Vinistra 2011 will be held from 13 to 15 May at the Žatika Sports Hall in Poreč. All producers from Croatia and abroad dedicated to vine-growing, winemaking and olive-growing can exhibit wine and grape products, olive oil, brandies, honey, prosciutto and other gastronomic products and agricultural machines. All awarded participants will be informed by 6 May and the public proclamation of awards will take place on 13 May during the winners proclamation ceremony as part of this year’s Vinistra exhibition.
