POREČ, March 23, 2010 -  In preparation for the 17th Annual Vinistra Wine Expo, scheduled for April 29 – May 2, 2010 in Poreč, Croatia, Vinistra – the eponymous association of winemakers and growers of Istria (www.vinistra.com) – announced that it has initiated two new channels of communication through social media networks.  Effective immediately, information about Vinistra activities, events and topics of interest will be shared via a dedicated Facebook page and on Twitter through @Vinistra.

Vinistra is an association of wine producers and growers whose goal is to promote Istrian wines on the domestic and foreign markets and educate wine consumers about the unique vinous and culinary experiences the region has to offer.

In addition, Vinistra has announced that the 17th Annual Vinistra Wine Expo will be preceded by another international wine competition, “The World of Malvasia”.  The World of Malvasia event will be a forum designed to showcase and compare the merits of Istria’s indigenous white wine grape, Malvasia Istriana, and promote its uniqueness as a quality wine grape variety. In addition, producers of other varieties of Malvasia will be invited to exhibit their achievements.

The World of Malvasia competition will be held on April 13, 2010 in Poreč, Croatia and will include panel discussions about the latest trends related to Malvasia production in the world.

Following the great success of the ZAGREB WINE GOURMET FESTIVAL 2009, we are preparing the third edition of this prestigious event, that will present the best Croatian and foreign producers of wine and gastronomic delicacies. The ZWGF 2010 will take place on 12 and 13 of February 2010, in the elegant frame of the Museum of Arts and Crafts, in Zagreb, Croatia.

Lectures, workshops, wine tastings, cooking shows and culinary presentations will be part of the two day programme. A unique meeting point for the professionals
(wine producers, distributors, oenologists, hotel and restaurant owners and f&b managers, sommeliers, journalists), as well as an exceptional opportunity for wine connoisseurs, gourmets and foodies to taste high quality wines, the best gastronomic products, and culinary specialties of renowned chefs.

Wishing to keep the high level of the festival, we will carefully select the producers who will present their wines at the ZAGREB WINE GOURMET FESTIVAL 2010. A limited number is a guarantee for the high quality of the manifestation, as well as a response to the increasing demand of the Croatian market.
The visitors (3500 people) and the press, both Croatian and international, have elected unanimously the ZAGREB WINE GOURMET FESTIVAL as the most important wine event in Croatia.

Puna dva mjeseca u 12 izložbenih prostorija Autobusnog kolodvora u Zagrebu svim zainteresiranim putnicima predstavljene su malvazije s oznakom kvalitete IQ. Dio je to izložbe kojom Istarska županija izlaže svoje kulturne i gospodarske mogućnosti te turističku i eno-gastronomsku ponudu Istre.

Izložba je otvorena 11.02. u 18.00 sati uz nazočnost brojnih gostiju povezanih s Istrom. Osim vrhunskih istarskih vina posjetitelji mogu pogledati fotografije s motivima vinograda i grožđa malvazije poznatog fotografa Renca Kosinožića.

Nakon svečanog otvorenja prisutnima su ponuđene gastro delicije te su se kušala vina i rakije članova Vinistre. Očekuje se da će izložbeni prostor posjetiti od 700 000 do 1 000 000 posjetitelja. Prostor ispred samog ulaza na Autobusni kolodvor iskorišten je za promociju i najavu izložbe Vinistra 2009.
