Two of the projects of the Vinistra Association received a grant for the rural areas development programmes to be implemented in 2008 in line with measure 4: “Incorporation and development of associations of producers in farming, fish and shellfish farming and of machinery rings”. The event took place in the premises of the Istrian Development Agency and the event was attended by the State secretary Krešimir Kuterovac on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishery and Rural Development.

Vinistra applied to the Ministry for funding for two of its projects: “Development of the Association’s brand and promotion of Istrian wines” which was granted 120,000 Kuna, and “Education of the members of the Association” which was granted 15,000 Kuna.

The Ministry letter quotes that the model of rural development is intended to hold the population in rural areas, equalize the quality of life in rural and urban areas, promote the return of the population from urban to rural areas, increase the competitiveness of production and create a greater income for farmers.
